Just a quick announcement: The next Planning Meeting for Anime Banzai on February 6, 2010, will be Staff Only, in order to solidfy our major organizational plans and goals for 2010.

We welcome the public to our next meeting, March 6, 2010:  11:00 AM to 1:00 PM  In the Salt Lake City Library, conference room C, and to every meeting thereafter.

The 2010 Anime Banzai Cosplay Certificate contest has begun! 

Here are the rules:

What We Want:

1.      Entries may be created by hand, computer, or camera but must be submitted digitally to cosplay@animebanzai.org by April 30th, 2010 midnight MST.

2.     Entries may not be posted publicly before October 10, 2010.  Early posting may lead to disqualification.

3.     Submissions must be at least 300 DPI and compatible with Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator

4.     Submissions must be your own work, but may be credited under a Professional or Studio name.  Artists desiring credit under a name other than their legal name must specify how they want to be credited on the entry form.

5.     Please keep in mind that the winning certificate(s) will be printed at 8 ½ x 11 inches and size accordingly.  Art may be Portrait or Landscape oriented.

6.     Text will be overlaid on the winning certificate(s) by the Cosplay Staff.

7.     Subject of the entry may be anything you like, as long as it is PG rated or below.  Preference will be given to art that is anime/cosplay/Japanese culture related.  Entries featuring the Anime Banzai Mascots (Ban and Sae) are welcome but not required.

8.     Entries become the property of Anime Banzai.  Anime Banzai reserves the right to reprint or display the entries at our discretion in perpetuity.

What you get:

1.      Between 1 and 10 winners will be chosen.

2.     Winners will be notified by e-mail by June 1st 2010.

3.     Winning artists receive Free Entry to Anime Banzai 2010.  Prize is non-transferrable unless winning artist has already pre-registered for Anime Banzai 2010.  Cases where the artist has already paid for registration will be handled on a case by case basis.

4.     Winning Certificates will also be displayed on the Cosplay Page at Animebanzai.org after 10/10/2010, with credit for the artist and link to their website (at artist’s discretion).

5.     Winners will also be listed on the Anime Banzai Cosplay Forum and the Anime Banzai Deviant Art site. 

6.     Artists may also receive the knowledge that somebody will totally geek out over their art and be thrilled to receive it as a prize.

The City Library is located at 210 East 400 South, Salt Lake City, Utah.  Conference Room B is in the area marked "2" in This downloadable PDF map of the library's first level. In order to get there you need to travel down the stairs before the main entrance to the actual first floor library, in the outer foyer.

Conference Room -1 is just outside the Children's Library across from the restrooms on the bottom floor.
